For the past four decades, Ms. Musick followed her passion and served education in a variety of roles. She graduated from Kent State University with a double-degree in elementary and special education and began her teaching career immediately after graduating. Later, Ms. Musick earned her Master’s in Education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Most recently, Ms. Musick retired as the Assistant Superintendent of Fort Wayne Community Schools (IN) where she was responsible for 34 high poverty elementary schools. During that time and under Ms. Musick’s leadership they were able to raise school grades from five A ratings to 24 A ratings the following year. She attributes this success to the leadership of the elementary principals and a thorough understanding of the instructional process.
